“Que Viva España!” (“Long live Spain!”) that is a phrase I heard growing up due to the Spanish influence in my home country. Also we referred to it as “la madre patria” (“motherland”) due to our heritage. Spain is known for its culture, art and architecture. This country has introduced the world to Flamenco music and dance, Spanish guitars, bullfighting and bakalao. And don’t forget Cervantes’ “Don Quijote de la Mancha” (Don Quixote de la Mancha), one of a kind! To me Spain is a place that I could go back endless times and don’t get tired of it. I enjoy the arts and being able to go to museums and see first hand the work of Spanish artist such as Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró and Salvador Dalí. In addition, different regions have so much to offer. Most known cities such as Barcelona is one thing, you go to Madrid or Santiago de Compostela is another and so on.
